spent money...

I just bought and ordered a bunch of scrapbook-stuff... A lot of things I wanted to have for quite a while:)
It´s gettin´ colder outside, I feel more comfortable and motivated, so maybe it´s time for the next project? There is this huge pile of pictures from my trip to turkey - last year :D
We´ll see, I hope the packages arrive quickly!

no scrapbooking activity lately...

Due to my extremely "nice" work schedule I don´t really find the time for any new scrapbook projects:(

At least I manage to draw some fanart-stuff once in a while to add some creativity to my life... And I gave KAKAO/ATC-cards a try and found out they´re quite some fun! And maybe scrapbook-pages would make a nice way of storing and presenting them, right?

Since my cards are related to Tsutomu Nihei´s manga "BIOMEGA" that would make pretty interesting layouts, I think!

Have to keep that in mind...

Hidan

Hidan is a follower of the quite bloody and violent Jashin religion and I thought he´d probably be pissed if forced to go sightseeing on some ruined sites of blasphemous religions...
So, for him it´s a wrong turn...

After shoving around bits of paper for a while I came up with the obvious, the look of a travel log. Fortunately I had this sand-colored Color Core-cardstock, which was just perfect for the used and worn out look I wanted to achieve.
Some matching ornamental paper, ribbon and a travel tag did the rest.

Cardstock: Coredinations Color Core
Patterned paper: K&Company Blue Awning, Life´s Journey
Ribbon: Nanu Nana

Itachi

Could it be that I got manipulated by those sharingan eyes to do a layout in red-black-white? Who knows!;)
Working title of the picture was “Neo Tokyo” and I wanted to show some Akira-like background, but I haven´t been to Tokyo yet and thought a moment about painting the background – and decided against it to stick with my uniform look of the basic idea.
So there´s a picture from Potsdam and the title changed to “European Getaway”.
I used stripes and patterns with numbers as combination along with some stamps and I´m pretty satisfied with the outcome.
Cool Layout for cool Itachi^^

Pain

And this one? I probably didn´t think at all! :D
I painted our Leader-sama along with Kisame, so maybe I was still in this holiday-beach-mood? I gave him some tattoos to match his piercings, he´d be an acceptable beachboy, don´t you think?

For the layout I had already chosen my background paper and then got stuck. Finally I used the woodprint-paper to do my own version of a wooden wall with a wanted poster on it...
I think the layout lacks some contrast...

Konan

Oh well, I don´t know! I just know that I wanted to do the picture like this from the very beginning. Konan in a traditional Kimono with Akatsuki-clouds:) I used an old woodprint by Kitagawa Utamaro as reference for the pose. And the Japanese Teagarden in Hannover as background.
The title was a problem - again - and the only thing I came up with was “Big in Japan”. I need to work on this...
Especially for this layout I bought Prima´s “Tea & Silk”-paper, my absolute favorite! It´s the most beautiful paper for me, just pure love^^ So the look of this page was already decided before I even started and I like it!

Sasori

Sasori was a little problem – I knew how I wanted the picture to look but couldn´t find a good title... “Endless Sand” “Playing in the sand” (Sasori originates from a desert-like country), well, I don´t know. So I took boring “Road Trip”:)
The bg-pic is made in Turkey and it was a bus tour so it fits!

Patterned paper: making memories General Travel, scrapbour, K&Company Sea Glass
Brad: Rayher
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink

Deidara

Deidara´s so cool, un!
And because of the title “City Landscapes” he´s visiting Berlin. There´s another version with a red Asahi-sunshade in the bg, but I chose this picture because it get´s along better with the title.

So I was scrapping along and when I was finished I thought: Dammit, the papers go so well with each other but somehow they don´t match the picture... *sighs*
Shit happens, right?
Note to myself: Don´t mix steel-and-glass-architecture with vintage paper...

Tobi

Oh, well, our good boy! He´s sort of weird so I thought he might get lost in a big city:)
As a match for the old London houses in the background I decided to use some vintage papers in restrained colors.
Somehow there happened to be those airplanes, not much to do with the pic but I like them!

Zetsu

Yay, the cannibal venus flytrap! I really like him!
My first title was “In the jungle, the mighty jungle” but “Paradise Found” was much shorter...

On this layout I got really experimental *lol* I never used so much stuff on a page!
But I wanted to bring out the jungle-thought behind it, so it´s a bit crowded. But I had fun doing it!

Patterned paper: Basic Grey Perhaps, making memories Paperie/General Travel
Ribbon: Nanu Nana
Flowers: Prima Marketing Angelique
Brads: Rayher
Stamps: Prima Marketing, Rico Design
Ink: Ancient Page, folia

Kisame

... is this blue sharky guy with a huge sword called Samehada...
I decided to stick with the obvious and chose the baech theme for him:-)
Not much else to say, I used K & Company´s Sea Glass paper that I just love and it´s perfect for vacation scraping!

Patterned paper: K & Company Sea Glass
Stamps: see~d´s
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink

Kakuzu

Painted last, scraped first!
I had really trouble finding a theme for Kakuzu. First I had no idea at all, then I thought about “Treasure Island/Pirates of the Carribbean” (Kakuzu is the treasurer of Akatsuki) but obviously had no matching pictures...
On my three-day-trip to Fehmarn this Easter I visited the U 11, a submarine that is exhibited in the haven of Burgstaaken and came up with the “Silent Hunter” theme, since Kakuzu is also described as a very talented assassin.

This is a very typical design for me – clean and simple!
Accidentally I just bought – without knowing – the perfect paper for this piece, there couldn´t have been a better match. I just added some ribbon and the eyelets to represent the numerous bolts holding together a submarine (or maybe a bull´s eye, also a very common maritime motive).

Akatsuki on vacation

So, if this is supposed to be a scrapblog, I should post something about my scrapbooks, right?
Now let me tell you about my recent project.
I´ve been a manga and anime fan for several years now, ocassionally doing some fanart, too. While I was working, I kinda lost track of most of my creative hobbies due to a lack of time – though I started scrapbooking a while ago.
A couple of months ago I got unemployed and one good thing that happened was, that I started to paint again.

One of my favorite mangaseries is Naruto and I did several fanarts over the last months. One day I thought about ideas how to create something new and decided to try to combine fanart and scrapbooking. And this is how the project “Akatsuki on vacation” started...
Akatsuki is the evil organisation in Naruto, consisting of ten members at the most. And they are all cool! XD And I sent them on vacation to do an unusual scrapbook album in the end.

First I started with small watercolor paintings of all members in the photosize of 10 x 15 cm. I scanned the pictures and combined the characters with a photobackground out my stock.
Some pictures were printed in the local photo shop, some on my own printer.
Well, and NOW I´m ready to scrap!
Fortunately I already have several matching papers I can use but I didn´t miss the chance to go shopping in the Hamburger Scrapbook-Center that I really like. Now I have enough cardstock, paper and other stuff – let´s start!

speaking of remember me...

While throwing away tons of old paper in my mom´s cellar, I came across a bunch of old comics - amongst other stuff two single ones:
Do YOU remember Calimero and Emily Erdbeer aka Strawberry Shortcake?

Looks kinda worn the poor guy! I must´ve read this a billion times:-)
